Mateus Labrunie is a Policy Analyst at Policy Links, responsible for conducting economic and policy analysis to inform industrial innovation policies and related matters.
EXPERTISE
Mateus Labrunie is finishing his PhD at the Centre of Development Studies, University of Cambridge, where he works under the supervision of Dr Ha-Joon Chang on the challenges of industrial policy and technological catching-up in the context of the fourth Industrial Revolution, with a focus on Brazil. Before that, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Economics of Industry and Technology, both at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
HIGHLIGHTS
Mateus has published in academic journals, and contributed to reports and initiatives of international organisations such as UNIDO and UNDP.
A strong believer in industrial policy and structural change as drivers of economic development, Mateus is part of the Policy Links Unit with the goal of contributing to spreading knowledge and best practices to governments and other interested parties.
