Sam Short is an industrial sustainability specialist and works with new ventures, SMEs, large organisations and policymakers to help drive the transition towards a greener, fairer and more resilient and sustainable industrial system. He has a long history with IfM as a researcher, and started working with the IfM Engage team in 2021.

As a research practitioner in industrial sustainability, Sam has a deep interest in the role industry can play in rising to the challenges of climate change, population growth, resource depletion, biodiversity loss, and delivering inclusive development.

HIGHLIGHTS

Sam has spent the past decade in academia and consultancy, developing a deep understanding of global sustainability and business strategy across a broad range of industries. He has worked with several start-up initiatives in renewable energy, housing and transportation sectors. Prior to this, Sam spent fifteen years in the Aerospace industry, living and working extensively across Europe, the Americas, and Asia. His industrial experience includes production management, new product development, supply chain management, industrial development strategy, business development, and general management.
