IfM Engage has supported the development of the UK Government’s Metamaterials Commercialisation Roadmap, helping to bring together expertise from across research, industry and government to shape the future of this emerging technology in the UK.

The Women in Manufacturing UK (WiM UK) Conference 2026 brought together more than 250 representatives from across the manufacturing sector on 21 October at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry and online to share ideas, experiences and practical approaches to improving gender balance in the industry.

The programme is designed to accelerate the identification, development and uptake of new and better interventions for conditions associated with clinically significant depressed mood by combining expertise in innovation management, evidence synthesis, lived experience engagement, global mental health and mental health translation.

IfM Engage has supported the UCI and Research England in bringing together senior stakeholders from across the UK spinout ecosystem to shape a shared roadmap for the future of national spinout data.

The Mental Health Catalyst, led by the University’s Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) through its knowledge-transfer company, IfM Engage, aims to bring together researchers, innovators, funders, policymakers, and people with lived experience to identify and prioritise new opportunities to address clinically depressed mood, and help people to get better and stay well.

IfM Engage has supported the Henry Royce Institute in developing a new Interim National Framework for Materials 4.0, outlining a shared vision for how digital technologies can transform the UK materials sector and accelerate innovation across the full materials lifecycle.

Hydrogen is essential for the UK and global economy, serving as a feedstock for numerous industries and aiding transport decarbonisation, with significant growth expected over the coming years. To harness this potential, the East and Southeast of England are focusing on developing a local green hydrogen economy, capitalising on the region’s local resources, infrastructure and capabilities.
