COURSE OVERVIEW
In today’s competitive environment, companies need to ensure that R&D activities turn into successful products, processes and services which deliver significant value. The IfM’s established technology and innovation management approaches can help you to see this through to success.
Our course gives an introduction to the essential tools needed to manage this process successfully, drawing on time-tested, evidence-based approaches from Institute for Manufacturing (IfM) experts.
The unique aspect of this course is the interaction between the module leaders from the IfM with the delegates who attend from different disciplines, opening up cross-industry perspectives on shared management challenges. You will network and learn directly from leading IfM researchers, as well as with your fellow learners from different industries and backgrounds.
Each module is led by an IfM expert who brings with them both academic and applied experience from their respective discipline. The module topics are brought to life through a mix of lectures, discussions, cases and practical group activities.

“The course was hugely valuable overall and I plan to introduce some of the ideas in the Technology Intelligence & Technology Roadmapping sections into Decision Lab as soon as I can.
A great course relying on real case studies. The half-day innovation practical session was also really enjoyable, with some great insights in managing innovation when information is sparse and competitors are innovating at the same time.”
David Buxton, Founder and Owner, Decision Lab
